Find out about how the UK Youth Parliament can make a difference on a national level
The UK Youth Parliament (UK YP) is an outstanding opportunity for young people to make a difference and represent other young people's views on a national level. You can be elected if you are aged 11 - 18 years and are already an elected member of the YEA. The UK YP has 369 seats from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It empowers young people to take positive action within their local communities.
The YEA has 7 UK YP Members, all of whom are elected by YEA Members to represent young people in Essex.
An annual UK YP conference takes place on a university campus over 3 days. We debate important topics, network and create and change a national manifesto. We often get to meet influential speakers.
Every year the UK YP hold the largest youth consultation in the UK. This is called 'Make Your Mark'. It gives a unique opportunity for the opinions of young people to be actively listened to and valued. This enables decision makers to see issues that are actually important to us.
