Local Work

Although we meet in Chelmsford for our sittings, we are involved in many other projects around Essex to help make the world a better place to be. We are currently doing the following projects in these areas:

Mid

Braintree, Chelmsford, Maldon

The Mid YEA Members are creating a “SLAB” Card which will be small enough to put in your wallet or purse and will have lots of information on how to support young people around these issues, Stress, Low Confidence and Bullying. There will be lots of useful points on how to deal with these issues with website links for further support. The group are also producing some videos with the link to them also being added to the SLAB Card.

North East

Colchester, Tendring

At the moment Colchester and Tendring are working on a variety of things such as attitudes towards crime, mental health, and transport. Their next step is to finalise the draft of their mental health poster and completing their survey on attitudes towards crime. Once they have finished creating the posters, they would like to distribute them where there is a great population of young people i.e. schools and colleges in the area.

South

Basildon, Brentwood, Castlepoint, Rochford

The South Team are planning events to do with “Sports Against Violence” they are looking to work in partnership with the Police Commissioner for advice and support for these events, which they are hoping will take place early next year.

West

Epping Forest, Harlow, Uttlesford

The West area are developing videos to be shown on YouTube around stigma and rumours. They are currently putting these films together and hope to have a launch event at the start of 2020.
