Voting in the YEA elections gives young people the chance to have their say and choose who will represent them on the Young Essex Assembly.

Voting period
Monday 30 November to Friday 18 December 2026
During this time, young people across Essex will be able to vote for the candidates standing in their local district.
Who can vote?
Any Young person aged 11-19 (or up to 25 with SEND) who live or go to school in Essex will be able to take part in the YEA elections and vote for candidates in their district.
Taking part through your school or youth group
Schools, colleges and youth groups can support young people to take part in the voting period.
