What Do We Mean by "Seats"?
A seat is a position on the Young Essex Assembly that can be filled by an elected young person.
The Young Essex Assembly has 78 seats in total, which are allocated across Essex districts. The number of seats available in each district mirrors the number of elected Essex County Councillors representing that area. For example, if a district has 9 Essex County Council seats, it will also have 9 seats on the Young Essex Assembly.

How are seats filled?
During the election, young people vote for candidates standing in their district.
